Celebrate Christmas America, While You Still Can

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’ so the song goes, and it is, or at least would be, if the Left would just leave Christmas alone, like they’ve left God Himself. Yep, it’s Christmastime again, and after years of mocking Conservatives for saying there’s a ‘War on Christmas’, the Left has already declared it for 2018. First victim – Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. HuffPo, the beacon of all things liberal insanity, has taken aim at the perennial holiday classic, a tale about overcoming difficulties and feeling like an outcast, which although may in fact depict the real-life pain of ‘being different’, actually has a lot of wisdom if they could but see it. Which is that the thing that made Rudolph feel weird and get picked on, his red nose, was the very thing that made him most valuable in the end.

Naturally the Left doesn’t see that, all they see with their SJW glasses is the cis-gendered ablist patriarchy anti-ABCDE some such nonsense or other, and just killjoy their way through all things fun. How ironic that the people who used to be for free love and free speech are now the most militant and annoying hall monitoring spinsters! You can just see them in old age with their man-bun (comb overs) with suspender aided skinny jeans yelling ‘Get off my lawn’, can’t you? And I wish I was joking about this but I’m not, liberals are actually just that insane.

From the schools that take Jesus out of the manger or the school play, to the Satanists that insist on putting a huge statue of Baphomet up in the town square, you can best believe the long term goal is to abolish Christmas forever. Understand, it’s not just Christmas they’re after, it’s Christianity writ-large. And of course the Left isn’t a fan of Jews either, but they’re a minority, and Hanukah is not as big a part of the commercial holiday season, so they don’t pay too much attention to that. But make no mistake, as you can see from some of the newly minted BDS Democrats, Jews are in Liberals crosshairs as well.

Of course, it’s not just in America, but all Western Judeo-Christian nations. There are now more mosques being built in France than Roman Catholic churches, and there now are more practicing Muslims in the country than practicing Catholics. And Germans can soon forget about their beer and brats, Stollen and Silent Night, it will be more like Kristallnacht of the Christian churches with the unassimilated migrants they’ve imported. As soon as I saw on Bing a beautiful picture of a German Christmas market I knew there would be an attack on one, and lo and behold, just like candy canes and mistletoe, an Islamist showed up, hatchet in hand, ready to shut down the party. No wonder the Left has thrown in with the radical Muslims, they’re both equally miserable! Only Poland and the former Soviet Eastern European countries seem to have a chance at this point.

And it’s deeper than even the ‘holidays’, although they’re going hard for them, for liberals are as averse to holiday joy as vampires are to garlic. They want to make us either embarrassed or ashamed of all of our customs and traditions, of the things that make Western Civilization great, especially family & faith, the Christian faith anyway. Because if you can tear down the family and crush the faith, it will be that much harder to practice those cultural traditions and that much easier to pull down the entire foundation of the nations, which is the ultimate goal. Because to them America is bad, as are all Western countries, because they’ve prospered off of the backs of others as it’s told. And to an extent that is true, but as I’ve written before, how does it make right any past sins to burn down one’s own house while you’re in it? It doesn’t of course, but logic and liberalism are like two parallel lines – never the two shall meet, and the only thing that matters is how you feel!

And by you, I don’t mean you the person who loves Christmas, I mean the liberal, particularly the white liberal, and how they feel about how the non-celebrator of Christmas feels about having to see the trappings of Christmas. The lights, the decorations, the manger – especially the manger. The sight of Baby J really makes them crazy!

Why do we make such a fuss about it anyway? One reason is because it reminds us of our childhood, when things felt innocent and simple. Even with a dysfunctional family situation, there’s something magical about the gathering by the Christmas tree waiting for Santa, and waking up to filled stockings and presents. And all of the lights reflect the waiting for the Divine Birth of the Redeemer, for the Bible says ‘When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12). People want ‘light’ in their lives, that’s why they put them up in their homes. Only the liberals, the atheists, and those who love darkness try so hard to kill the light of the spirit of Christmas. So celebrate it while you can, even if it’s not ‘wrapped’ exactly as you’d like. Whether you have a family or not, a romantic partner or not, whatever your situation, I say go for it and try to get into the Spirit of it, even if you have to go kicking and screaming!

Jokes aside, I love Christmas and it’s not packaged the way I’d choose if I could, but I celebrate anyway. And I’ll admit as a person whose family was less than ideal growing up, I sometimes get a little winsome around the holidays and even at my age wish I could be adopted by Mike Rowe’s mom or Chip and Joanna Gaines, but sometimes you have to make Merry – and family – where you can. So I do. I decorate with pretty things – traditional red and green of course – I bake (and eat too much of course), listen to Tchaikovsky and Motown Christmas and cry at Whitney Houston’s early Christmas music (Do You Hear What I Hear? On Jay Leno – masterful!). I wrench every ounce of celebration out of it that I can, because I know soon we will all be back into the mundanity and routine of normal life, with little to ‘look forward to’ except perhaps the weekend or the next intermittent holiday, for we should but generally don’t live each day ‘in the spirit’ as if it were Christmas, myself included.

There are many times when I don’t want to bother, but on those nights when I’m relaxing on the couch with the lights dimmed looking at the twinkling ones of my beautiful Christmas tree decorated with the ornaments still surviving from my childhood, it’s all worth it and I thank God for His Grace. The frustration of having to untangle, wrap, then unwrap and rewrap the lights because they’re not perfect, or finding that you’re just one strand short of finishing but it’s too late to go out to get more. (I see you nodding!). And frankly, I celebrate in part because soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines (& K-9s) have fought, bled, and died for my freedom to do it, and often can’t be with their own families because they’re out there at risk protecting mine! I owe it to them to, so as not to take it for granted.

Yes, the Christmas dance can be a stressful one, and you can understand why the Kranks wanted to skip town just this once, but in the end you realize that when you’re trying to ‘live in the moment’, as hard as that may be, not missing out on one of the most important seasons of the year is important. And in fact, might, with enough effort by its opposition and passivity by its supporters be outlawed at some point. Scoff if you want at the suggestion, but that is exactly the goal of many more than you know. So grab your eggnog, put on your jammies and watch the Grinch. He may steal Christmas at first, but he gives it back – at least for now.
